Biography
Krista Wright holds BM and MM degrees in Vocal Performance from The University of Tennessee, where she was a student of George Bitzas, and a 200-hour Yoga Teacher designation from BloomingLife Yoga (RYS) and The Morter Institute, where her principal teachers were Lily Dolan Kessler and Dr. Sue Morter. Over the past several decades, Krista has been an active performer in every theatrical genre, from opera and musical comedy to cabaret, and some of her radio and television commercials have received regional Addy Awards.
In technical theater, she worked for several seasons as a stage manager at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, as production stage manager/assistant director of the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists (currently the Ryan Center), and made her directorial debut at Mary Arrchie Theater on the north side. As a music educator, she has taught every age from elementary through university (Butler University) and professional level and has been a sought-after accompanist.
Currently, she maintains a busy private studio of voice and piano where she integrates the Eastern principles of yoga and meditation with traditional Western voice and piano pedagogical techniques and teaches yoga and meditation as independent disciplines. In addition to private weekly lessons, Krista leads clinics and workshops in voice, yoga, and meditation.
